Chapter#46

Hello Human Butter Jelly Time!~

It's been...More than a month since I was last here...The shame...The pitiful shame...
Well I'm here to redeem my sins whatever that means, its 2 in the morning, forgive my
spelling errors and such and just look and glare into the recent works of my fist~

So, still inspired by the Evangelion Series, I decided to create another mecha
creature but in a different approach to better my technique and speed in completing
works~ Cause well...I'm just show shlow :( ... Moving along~

I first started by brainstorming different poses for my mecha creature~ I wanted it to be
scary, very beastly like and so aimed for the snarling, crouching pose, while making the
creature stare down at the viewer so its like, 'aww shiee-- it's looking at me'~ kinda thing.

So I first made the silhouette like always not shown here. (Somehow...lost it.)
Then I made an outline of the pose.

After that, I accidentally (being such a bad example here) went straight into too much
detail here I think and drew out pretty much of the design I had in mind~
-Probably because I had the design in mind already that it came out so fast...-

When you're done with the initial drawing, create a layer mask around the object and
only the object so that whatever you do outside the lines, automatically becomes invisible.
Then after that, I added one more layer and outlined it once more so the lines become
much more thinner & defined than before~ Gives it much more better quality than before.
Add two layers afterwards and use one for the general shading and the other for hard
shadows; areas that light does and cannot reach.
After that, add a layer and give it a coat of color~ Smexifuls, aye?
A new technique I tried here was a gradient shade~ Because the above pic looked
really plain to me (So...Flat with solid colors) I decided to give it more dimension, and
with each limb I gave a gradient of grey~ You might not see it here very well, but...
When you do it yourself you'll really see the difference! (Strange example...)
After that, give it a color overlay on a new layer to bright and give life to the image, and
use a linear dodge layer to give it rim light to push out the character out of the canvas.

Add final effects~
Light trace of glowing eyes,
saliva, and gave it white shining
spheres around sharp areas to
push the image out once more.

Andd done!!!

This piece took 25 hours, HALF the amount of time I took last time for a piece similar to this~

Hope you guys enjoyed this Chapter!!!
Will try to update more regularly now
that I'm back in class ^^

See you next time!!~

Chapter#45

Hello there my little shmoop-plops~ (?!?!) How do you all dare do?~
Today's post is about a tribute I did for Street Fighter X Tekken which I'm sure (HOPE)
you've heard or seen of before, since it was one of the most anticipated games of 2012~
My tribute goes towards 2 of my probably favorite video game girls of all time;
Asuka from the Tekken Series, and Sakura from the Street Fighter Series~

Two of which both happen to be school girls...

Anyway! Onto the process~
For this piece I cheated the silhouette stage for some reason and went straight into the
rough sketch~ For me I thought the rough sketch looked pretty cool~ Kinda dynamic.

After I made the lineart however, I noticed the image lost quite alot of the 'energy' it had back in the initial sketch...I think while I was working on this part of the piece I got irritated with Asuka's hair not being able to reveal much since both sides of her head are being blocked by Sakura's head and arm ): Her hair is her main charm in my opinion, besides her chest...I mean her ass...I mean ah ha ba booshka. (face)

Irritated, and believing I would soon quit this piece I plunged on anyway, with the
shadow'ing and the colors (on the left)~ As usual, the piece looked so poor by then.
But the good ol' overlay did its job and brought vibrancy and life into the picture~
Amazing what that Overlay option can do. Takes 2 seconds too!

Finally, just fix / add more little details and voila~ Done!
Although the quality is no where what I wanted it to be....
I'll remake this piece another time in the future :P

Thanks for tuning in!
See you next time! Take care!

Chapter#44

Greetings! Fellow warriors!~of~ Ass, kaban!~
Been too long :( Hope you guys have been good! I've been pretty busy with myself
for the pass...Huh, haven't blogged for a month. Lolol, yes I've been busy with stuff.

Anyway! A quick update before I go is about a piece I finished quite awhile ago~
This piece is called Demon Dragon Slayer~

Below you'll see a quick design process of what I went through to complete this ^^

So first I made a quick silhouette of the character I was drawing~
Next, I made a quick outline for the silhouette~ Something I'd like to note,
even as early as by now I was thinking of stopping since it looked so bad =,="

Next, I made another layer to add on armaments and weaponry to the character.
As you can see the trickles, this image was actually suppose to be of him
slashing the 'moon' as splashes out of the water~ But the idea was dropped
due to time constraints and such (you'll be hearing that excuse for awhile ):

Next is fine outlining, and abit of a clean up~ Followed by a layer of color underneath :)

Then afterwards, dash it off with a sprinkle of overlay and you're done ^^
The background was made using random smoke brushes I made during my course.

Welp, that's it!~ Sorry for the lack of updates! Will try to keep up to date!
Keep up with whatever you're doing folks! Stay safe and out of the weather :)

...I need more Vitamin D...
